Welcome back to the world famous Boom Room Showcase, where it went down @ The Brown Chocolate Café in Brooklyn. We had a chance to be blessed with the presents of two Hip-Hop legends, Easy Mo Bee & King Sun. If you do not Easy Mo was the first producer to work with the Legendary Late Great Notorious B.I.G., “Party & Bullshit”, “Machine gun funk”, “Warning”, The What f/ Method Man, “Going back to Cali” & “Love the dough f/ Hip Hop’s reigning king Jay-z to name a few. Mo Bee also produced “Flava in ya ear” from Craig Mack, The original version of “On the run” f/ Tupac & Notorious B.I.G., & “If I was your woman” from Alicia Keys album in stores now, and he also won a Grammy with the Legendary Miles Davis for “Doo-Bop Song”. Easy Mo was in one of the most underrated groups in Hip-Hop better known as Rapping is Fundamental along with AB-Money & JR-aka-Mr. Styles.

That brings us to King Sun who earned his name in Hip-Hop by destroying MCs in battles around the city. Tonight was no different, because King Sun was at his best when he was challenged by another Bronx MC named Billy Bucks. After two rounds of being spoon fed too much Veteran soup, Billy Bucks could not finish his verses. Big up to King Sun, who left his mark as one of the best battle rappers in Hip-Hop.

Tonight started off with one of the next great R&B acts to hit the music scene since Jodeci, introducing Deep. Right from the start Deep had the crowd with “One hand in the sky”, and then as soon as you thought it was over Deep performed their radio smash “So many songs“. This record is getting love on Hot 97, so call and support Deep. Deep also has a mix tape out with the Street Sweeper himself, DJ KaySlay called, Welcome to R&B City. They were with out a doubt one of the hottest R&B groups I ever seen, signed or unsigned. World, watch out for Deep!

Next up was Flawless f/ The Rebels spitting that unadulterated lyrics that shook the whole club. Flawless gave us two verses of some fire, while Rutt took the point and scored an easy bucket, he then passed the mic to Melo who closed the set with his autobiography “Fake cats in the industry”, another joint featured on the Heaven Sent Record Mix Tape.

Straight from the streets of Pennsylvania comes FootSteps, another hot R&B group that is set the world by storm. FootSteps represent that throw back soul that we have been missing all these years and what we need now. They performed their hits “Visions of everything” & “Baby Girl”, which had all the ladies wanting to come back for more. I also got word that FootSteps opened for Kanye West @ The Lab the next day. This has to be one of the hardest working groups in R&B. You will be hearing a lot from this group in the near future. Keep doing ya thing Tray!

Last week my whole crew and I were putting up posters as we left the NAS concert in Central Park, when this white kid name Tommy Infinite came up to me and says hit spits. So, I him to do the damn thing! This kid spit a whole Manhattan block and was pretty hot. Tommy performed his joint “If it wasn’t for Hip Hop”, and sparked the interest of legendary producer Easy Mo Bee. His social conscience lyrics paint a picture of an eighteen-year-old struggling to fit into society. The struggle is in us all black, white, red purple, green, or grey.

The stage was set for Da Kanexx to it back to the block with Logic Write setting all the rules with “Put you in ya place”, while Joe Nonakane was on his campaign trail to ”Make a name” for himself. Just when you thought Kanye was the only rapper to praise God, Da Kenexx connected with their street hit ”Dear God”. This group come straight from the Stay Stimula Camp, which features the Foundation as well as The Stim Brothers f/ L.A. & Little Stim. Keep an eye out for this camp in the near future.

Queens stand up! The Wolfgang was in the building with their “Gunz is up”, which had evrybody holding their pockets and tucking in their chain (metaphorically speaking). With no way out, Wolfgang performed “Southsuicide”, the hood guide to Southside, Queens. This is the second time Wolfgang rocked the house with Nic-Baggz, Coli-Streetz, Rebel, and Dukadonis. Tonight it was about Nic-Baggz & Coli-Streetz, these cats took it to the hood amd never brought it back. Wolfgang! Wolfgang! “Take it to da hood” (repeat 3x’s).

Tonight, Glenskilz opened the mic to audience members with flows. He passed mic to Mouse Stagalino who scortched the mic like a only a true member of the Stay Stimula Camp should. After ripping the mic to shreds Mouse Stagalino passed the torch to Dice the smooth criminal from Jersey. Finally, their was Billy Bucks, C-Gutter, and Partner in crime from the Bronx with a much improved stage presents and delivery. This is the second time these Bronx young gunz took the stage @ Da Boom Room Showcase, remember it was the young Billy Bucks tried to battle the legendary King Sun.

Da Boom Room would like to send a special shout to my peoples from Jersey Brenda & Sheila, thanks guys! Big up, to my dogz Mark (Good Looking for the camera work!), Jason-aka-The Guru, Po Rich, Twinz, Easy Mo Bee, King Sun, Big L (supplying the beats), Joe (Good looking!), BigPenz, Reemo, Chicago, Cuzzola & Young Cuzzola (Thanks Fam!), and Big up to Hass (Thanks for the pictures!). Thanks to the owners of The Brown Chocolate Café Guy & Ronnie, it’s been real! To those who missed it, Too M$%^&#&@@%*# BAD!
